Character: Peter Pettigrew

Character's Appearance: Short and pudgy with mousy brown hair. Has watery blue eyes. Has a small scar on his left hand from when he was trying to butter bread with a carving knife (it was the only clean one!)
Character's History: Has an overbearing father who expects a lot of him and an overindulgent mother. She got him a hamster when he was five but he accidently stepped on it, and this incident has left him sympathetic to small furry animals ever since. When he was nine he tried horseback riding, but he fell off his fortunately placid horse and broke his arm, and has since been wary of high places. His father was an Auror and his mother was a librarian. Before Hogwarts he went to a primary school in Edinburgh. His best memory is winning a spelling bee in third grade, and his worst memory is when nobody came to his tenth birthday party. He is an only child. Met the Marauders in his first year, but did not actually become friends with them until about halfway through. Before that he had been subject to a few mild pranks. He had asked Remus for help with his Charms homework as he was struggling in that class and his father had high expectations for him, and through him met James and Sirius who protected the poor boy from others' taunting.
Character's Personality: Copies James and Sirius at every opportunity. However if this copying involves, say, charming Lucius' boxers to sing dirty songs whenever he takes them off, he will probably just stand off to the side and laugh nervously. Though he wishes to be, he is not yet brave enough to pull such pranks. Wishes he were taller and so tends to wear platform shoes. Also tends to fall off aforementioned platform shoes. His insecurity stems from his father's position as an Auror and the footsteps he must follow in. He himself is rather quiet and unassuming, preferring to write bad poety and follow Quidditch. He would much rather be like James and Sirius, who he finds quite dashing and his father finds insufferable. He was very surprised to be sorted into Gryffindor, as he fully expected to be in Hufflepuff. Despairs of ever finding a girlfriend and has resigned himself to bachelorhood for the rest of his life. If a girl ever did flirt with him, he wouldn't notice. His favorite class is Care of Magical Creatures. Secretly wants to be a pet shop owner. He likes the concept of travel by boat, but tends to get seasick. He nevertheless goes boating with his family whenever he can, hoping that suddenly it will have gotten better. He likes to follow Muggle popular music, although he is always a decade behind the rest of the world in his tastes (he says that if people still remember who the band is after ten years, they must be good).
